Overview :

The National Environmental Education Course (NEEC) is designed for Teacher Trainers at pedagogical institutions in the view of developing the capacity of an educational system to support and enhance the environmental education in the schools of Viet Nam.

Certificate Awarded : National recognized certificate

Objective :

To train trainers in environmental education for pre-service and in-service teacher, to help the training support unit (TSU) in long-term EE training, to do research on long-term EE approach in schools of Vietna.

Curriculum Description :

The course is divided into three theoretical modules, each consisting of its own practical component ( 4 modules ):
Module 1: Process & Planning
Module 2: Environment (Eco-concepts, Environmental Issues & Environmental Ethics)
Module 3: Curriculum development
Module 4: Putting Ideas into Practice.Each module was supplemented with lectures given by senior experts from the Centre for Education Technology (CGD), Hanoi University of Education (HUE), Hanoi National University, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), Institute of Education & Strategy and WWF with the relevant fields such as education technology, environmental protection strategies & environmental issues in Vietnam, environmental education policy issues in the world and in Vietnam, environmental education and human behavioral change.

Frequency : Held twice every year during the project period 1998- 2003

Course Fees : The Project provides sponsorship to the attendants. On average, it costs USD 11.000 for a course of 22 attendants
