Overview :

To examine and study the historical geography of urbanization, the urbanizing century, theoretical concepts, location and growth of cities, the nature of cities, internal structure and its characteristics, cities in the developing countries.

Objective :

To understand the field of Environmental Studies as an integrated discipline and the nature of its relationship to the surroundings, to know the solid foundation in the natural sciences and the environment, to deal successfully with the environmental problems awareness of the cultural and historical evolutionary processes for decision making. 

A theme within an environment provided with courses that take a multidisciplinary approach, leading to a degree. To understand the field of Environmental Studies as an integrated discipline and the nature of its relationship to the surroundings. 

To study basic urban characteristics as an environment and associated urban environmental impacts.

Curriculum Description :

4 hours lecture and one hour tutorial per week for one semester.

Course Content :

The urban systems and urban structures, the urbanizing century, the nature and functions of cities, necessity of waste disposal, environmental pollution.
3 hours lecture and two hours tutorial per week.

Frequency : One semester
