Overview :

Course outline covers nature and aspects of various geologic hazards (hazards from earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, ground failures), ways and means of mitigation of these hazards, proper use and care for Earth resources (groundwater, mineral, fossil fuel, etc.), land conditions for proper waste disposal, and uses of environmental potential maps in regional planning.

 

Objective :

To acquire knowledge and education for the awareness of environmental impacts caused by natural and anthropogenic geologic hazards and sustainable uses of natural resources.

 

Course Content :

Landslide controls, soil degradation problems, mass movement and landslides, flood disasters, volcanic and earthquake hazards, water resource management, soil management, land-use map, coastal erosion controls
