Overview :

The professional programme is designed as a two year programme, divided into four semesters. Each semester, there will be a 2-week course, in which the participants receive theoretical background provided by FSC and other resource persons, related to the subject of environmental education. At the end of the 2-week course, each participant has to have developed an action plan to be implemented throughout the rest of the semester. The action plan acts as course work that will be evaluated and improved in the next session/semester.Similar formal education that has a set, prepared curriculum and syllabus, the courses also have a curriculum which is developed based on the needs of the participants. The success of the participants was measured by their ability to implement their action plans. Course Structure:

Semester 1: Introduction. Brainstorming and development of ideas on environmental education activities. How to put these ideas into action. Participants go back to their respective organizations to work through step 2 and 3 with colleagues from their NGOs. Organizations discuss among themselves on a project they agree to implement. Time frame: 4 5 months. If problems arise then they can contact their tutors. Write a report of the above process. Timeframe – Six weeks.

Semester 2: Participants come back to the PPLH center for two weeks. Presentation of reports on the programme planning designed by the participants and agreed or accepted by their respective organization or colleagues. Feedback inputs and constructive criticism are given, participants make a commitment to implement the revised program in respective organizations. Implement and document the individual project process.a) Correspondence with tutors. Mid-term evaluation.b) Write a report of the above process.

Semester 3:Participants come back to the PPLH center for two weeks. Presentation of reports, programme implementation, findings and analysis. Feedback, inputs and constructive criticism are given. Refinement of the program and methodology. Each participant commits to implementing the revised process in their organization. Implement with written evaluation as students proceed. Correspondence with tutors Mid-term evaluation. Proceed with further evaluation. Write a report of the above process.

Semester 4:Participants come back to the PPLH center for two weeks. Presentation of reports: result of the field activities, finding and analysis. Feedback and constructive, criticism and given to finalize the participants Programme as a final product. Further refinement of the report and methodology occurs, as the final result of the whole four semester’s activities. End of the Programme, a final closing ceremony with public exhibition a final closing ceremony with public exhibition of diploma or certificate

Objective :

The mission of this course is to develop human resources and systems in member organizations of IEEN. To enable the effective provision of environmental education and its development in Indonesia. To increase the capability of IEEN members to produce and design highly effective teaching programs.The goals are:The key areas of development highlighted by IEEN / PPLH Seloliman for the next three years focus on human resources development, organization and strategic management. Specifically:

To improve the quality and creativity education programs.

Support both local programs and the development of environmental education in Indonesia, through the development of publications.

The development and documentation of more effective systems for establishing and running environmental centers.

The development of effective long-term strategies for the growth of IEEN throughout Indonesia.

Course Content :

The Three Subjects are:1.Development of Environmental Education Methodologies;2.Development of Media and Material for Environmental Education Activities;3.Development and Management of Organizational in Environmental Education;

Delivery Method : Lectures, peer dicussion, practical implementing, report writing

Contact Hours : 2 weeks each semester, for 4 semester total 8 weeks
